mobilization, spinal intervention, and prolotherapy and combine this
with my medical training to address musculoskeletal injuries incurred
in an occupational setting. I offer these skills now at SFMMG.

Dr. Barry Meskin provides specialized excellence in the orthopedic evaluation and treatment of foot and ankle disorders.
He has spent 13 years concerned with complex and challenging problems of trauma, surgery, and sports medicine. Workers compensation is mostly spent providing treatment, although extremely well versed as a qualified medical examiner and agreed medical evaluator. After completing his undergraduate BS degree in South Africa he graduated from the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco in 1992. He completed his surgical residency rotating through the San Francisco General and Oakland Highland Hospitals. This complete training on the surgical and medical management enables him to continue rendering care, in an efficient, and cost effective manner. Many foot and ankle problems can be corrected with conservative treatment, although if surgery is indicated, he is trained in arthroscopic surgery as well as reconstructive procedures of the foot and ankle. A ctive staff privileges are maintained at CPMC as well as many out-patient surgery centers. Continued concern is also oriented around the prevention of such injuries with physical therapy, orthotics, bracing and shoe recommendations as indicated. Diagnostic and therapeutic injections have also proven to provide a significant adjunct with effective relief and benefit.
Dr. Naraghi believes that the majority of Spinal disorders could be treated without Surgery. We first obtain an accurate diagnosis, and discuss all the options and alternatives. Only after a reasonable trial of physical therapy, if symptoms still continue, then selective spinal injections, and minimally invasive procedures or surgery may be recommended, to improve function and get the best results.
